Jersey Mike’s Subs Helps after Hurricanes Harvey

Although it has been several months since Hurricane Harvey impacted Houston and the Texas Gulf Coast, the effects are still being felt by many area residents.  Assistance is still needed and organizations like Houston Food Bank are working to feed the need, and they are receiving support from generous businesses like Jersey Mike’s Subs.

More than 1,300 Jersey Mike’s Subs locations across the country partnered with local food banks to help residents impacted by Hurricanes Harvey and Irma.  In Houston alone, the company has donated just over $218,000 to Houston Food Bank to help our neighbors in need!

From Monday, September 11 through Sunday, September 17, 2017, participating Jersey Mike’s locations donated $1 to food banks in Texas for every regular sized #7 Turkey Breast and Provolone sub purchased.

In addition, beginning in late September 2017, Jersey Mike’s handed out special cards in local communities nationwide offering a free sub for a $2 donation to food banks in areas affected by Hurricanes Harvey and Irma.  Through this promotion, communities from coast to coast contributed an incredible $361,533 to support those in need.

“In the wake of Hurricane Harvey, we saw the caring and giving spirit of Houston shine brightly, with people and businesses stepping up to help one another,” says Brian Greene, president/CEO of Houston Food Bank.  “Jersey Mike’s donation to the Houston Food Bank after the storm made a big impact, and their continued support is crucial to helping people get back on their feet after devastating loses and heartbreak.  We appreciate Jersey Mike’s dedication to Greater Houston and surrounding areas.”

Each $1 donated to the Houston Food Bank provides three meals to those in need.  With the total current donation of $218,008, Jersey Mike’s has provided 654,024 meals to neighbors in need in the food bank’s 18-county coverage area in southeast Texas.
