Nourishing kid friendly meals served year-round to children in child care, after-school and summer meal program sites throughout 18 southeast Texas counties.
The Houston Food Bank’s Kids Cafe program partners with various community sites to provide free meals and snacks to low-income children. The objective of Kids Cafe is to help alleviate childhood hunger by providing children with access to fresh, healthy and warm meals in after-school or child care programs.
School’s out for summer! For many children in southeast Texas who participate in free or reduced-priced breakfast and lunch programs, summer means one thing: hunger. The Houston Food Bank works each summer to provide free breakfast, lunch or afternoon snack to any child age 18 and under at sites located in Houston and surrounding areas.
Kids do not have to be enrolled in school or a program to receive a meal. No form of ID is required.
All meals include fruit, vegetables, low-fat proteins, whole grains and milk. Breakfast, lunch or snack varies from site-to-site.
