Hunger Fighter Patch Program for Scouts

Join the Houston Food Bank for a “hands-on” educational, community-action and volunteer experience for scouts of all ages.

Scouts Will Gain:

Awareness on hunger as a southeast Texas issue
Experience on how to initiate change in their own community
Education about how food banks operate

3-Step Process:

  1. Huddle Against Hunger Activity
    Complete one Houston Texans and Kroger Huddle Against Hunger activity from our curriculum guide: (English | Spanish)
    .
  2. Schedule a volunteer shift online by selecting a day/time from our calendar.
    (Note: if you have volunteers who are ages 4-5, please contact our staff at Houston Food Bank)
    Don’t forget to take a group picture at the end of your shift!

  3. Host Food Drive
    After you have registered your food drive and collected the items, please bring your donations to our 535 Portwall St. location’s front lobby on Monday – Friday: 7am-9pm & Saturday: 7am-4pm. (Note: During hours outside of Tuesday-Thursday: 9am-4pm, we are not able to issue poundage receipts and there is limited staff available to help unload donations.)

After completing the 3-steps, please email Houston Food Bank for further instruction on how to receive your patch.
