Back to School Markets

What is a School Market?

School Markets are a partnership between Houston Food Bank & local schools to increase access to fresh, nutritious groceries directly to their surrounding communities, in a convenient & familiar setting. Middle & high school students help lead the program by assisting with set-up, distribution, and welcoming families, & they develop leadership skills in the process.

Hunger Action Month

September is Hunger Action Month, a time to come together with community to take meaningful steps to end hunger. This year, our theme is Housing Affordability Matters, because stable, affordable housing is the foundation for a healthy life. And when paired with access to nutritious food, it helps families to thrive. By raising your voice to advocate for policies that address both hunger and housing access, you can help create lasting change.

👉👉 Visit our Action Center to elevate your voice to our local elected officials’ ears & help us build on this momentum. There’s power in numbers, and your input makes a difference!
