The Houston Food Bank hosts a number of events throughout the year that range from food drives to tasting events to an elegant five-course dinner. These unique events raise awareness, as well as food and funds.

An engineering competition to create inventive structures using only canned goods to raise food and money.

Empty Bowls Houston
Raising awareness of the empty bowls in our community, local artists donate hand-made bowls for purchase, each bowl coming with a soup lunch.
Gift of Produce
Large fresh produce donations organized by the Houston Fresh Fruit and Vegetable Association.
Houston Restaurant Weeks
Participating restaurants offer a prix fixe gourmet meal (lunch or dinner), a percentage of which benefits the Food Bank.
Houston Marathon Run for Food
Runners participate in Chevron Houston Marathon's Run for a Reason, to raise awareness and funds for the Houston Food Bank.
Hunger Action Month
Hunger Action Month was created to involve others in the community and motivate them to join forces to ultimately have a greater impact in the fight against hunger.
