Through our ARPA (American Rescue Plan Act of 2021) grant and working with local farms and food producers, Houston Food Bank offers fresh produce to neighbors that need it. Last year alone we provided more than 27 million pounds of local produce, leading to healthy outcomes for neighbors, and crucial support to Houston area farms and producers.
Houston Food Bank is excited to continue this important work in support of community partners in Harris County and Harris County Public Health and throughout its 18-county coverage area. “As our communities continue to grow, we need to remain mindful of the importance of our neighborhoods and the local communities,” says Brian Greene, president/CEO of Houston Food Bank. Our mission is ‘Food for Better Lives,’ “and to make this vision a reality, we will continue to commit ourselves to work directly with local communities.”
