Annette Brooks, an employee of Powell Industries, was recently recognized for her community service efforts and received a Powell 2024 Power of One Community Service Award. Along with the recognition, Brooks received a $500 cash award for herself as well as a $5,000 cash donation to be made to the charity of her choice, and Brooks selected the Houston Food Bank!
Houston Food Bank is appreciative of this generous donation, as the need for assistance has grown following the recent floods and storms. Brooks generous donation will make an impact – for every $1 donated to Houston Food Bank, they can provide three meals for the community. So, this donation will provide 15,000 meals to neighbors in need.
