Michael
Michael loves getting his Senior Food Box every month, but he also loves being generous to neighbors who are in even deeper need.
“Most of us are on a fixed income, and food is very expensive,” he says. “Everybody needs some form of assistance because people are struggling.”
Michael often gives away many of the non-perishables that come in his box “because it’s very helpful to them,” he says.
For himself, he’s particularly grateful for fresh produce … especially when there are oranges and tangerines, his favorites.
Michael, who has heart problems, says that he and many of his neighbors often face making difficult choices between buying food or medicine. The Senior Boxes are a big help, so he says “a big thank you” to friends like you who help make it possible.
