This week marked the first of our Fishbowl Conversations – a collaboration between Braver Angels Houston and Houston Food Bank to foster dialog about the ongoing issues of food insecurity and rising costs in our city.
A diverse group of Houstonians attended, united by their concerns and empathy for their neighbors. Through the course of the event the causes of food insecurity, as well as potential ways to ameliorate or even eliminate the issue were discussed.
Of course, discussion alone cannot solve the problem. However, building connections across political and societal divides in the first step toward a consensus that may one day foster the changes needed.
