On September 18, members of the Community Assistance Program (CAP) attended the Feeding Texas Conference in San Antonio, TX alongside other Texas food bank SNAP program staff. The Houston Food Bank’s Community Assistance Program was given recognition for the food bank with the highest number of total referrals to partner organizations in the Referral Partner Program and for the food bank with the highest percentage of process ready applications- In the category: Large Food Banks.
Feeding Texas is a statewide network of food banks leading a unified effort to end hunger in Texas. Their goal is to ensure access to adequate, nutritious food for all Texans, improve the health and financial stability of the communities they serve, and engage all stakeholders in advocating for hunger solutions.
