Houston Food Bank would like to thank the estate of Don Arnold and Dan Electro’s for the charity art auction on August 24 to benefit the food bank. Don was a long time collector of the work of Houston artist and musician Beans Barton, and his family auctioned off a large portion of his collection, with all proceeds to go to Houston Food Bank. The event was a rousing success, as you can see from some of the event photos.
In the Houston Food Bank’s 18-county service area over 1 million people are food insecure. The food insecurity rate of children and adults is 15.4%, which is higher than the national average of 13.5%. The valuable contributions made from the event will go toward essential items for children and families in need.
We’re grateful to all the Beans Barton fans who made the auction a success, Dan Electro’s for hosting, and most of all to the Arnold family for making this event happen. Together, we’re making a meaningful impact—one donation at a time.
