The Houston Food Bank’s 713-Day event was a fun celebration of community and giving back, drawing over 350 volunteers who joined forces with Houston Dynamo alumni and their families. Throughout the afternoon, volunteers worked to support The Houston Food mission to create food for better lives. DJ Jazmin provided all the Houston classics, adding to the awesome event, while volunteers enjoyed a range of local Houston favorites after their shift. Refreshments included soda from Exotic Pop, water provided by Radio One, a sweet treat from Ben & Jerry’s and candies from Chingona Picosita Candies. A highlight of the event were the “Loaded 713-Day Chicken Tenders” from The Food Bank’s own 535 Catering. We sold exclusive 713-Day shirts, sponsored by Active Athlete and Adidas, and creatively designed by Daniel Anguilu. They were a huge hit, and we plan to sell them online for those unable to attend (check back soon!) The event not only showcased community solidarity and volunteerism but also the love for Houston Culture.
