Woodsedge Community Church’s Hope Center recently celebrated a significant expansion to their food storage and distribution capacity.
The Hope Center, located in Spring, TX, has been a pantry partner with Houston Food Bank since 2011. A large tier partner, they received 618,000 pounds of food FY2026, to serve over 13,306 households and 60,636 neighbors (numbers are duplicates).
They were awarded $70,500 through ARPA-ECOP to support a $180,000 project to expand refrigeration and freezer space with walk-in units, and for additional storage space in order to increase the number of neighbors they serve.
The installation of larger and more efficient outdoor walk-in freezer and fridge has enabled the ability to store more refrigerated and frozen food. Additionally, installing the extra portable building has helped them expand their center, allowing them to store more food and making the experience neighbors have selecting food and supplies more pleasant and efficient.
