With the start of a new season the weather changes, flowers bloom, and the sun comes out. However, as the seasons change one thing will stay constant – elections. March brought a primary election where we got to make our voices heard and select who will be on the November ballot. But it doesn’t end there.

She Voted!May will bring a uniform election (an election for local leaders and initiatives) and a run-off for select races across our area. Does this sound new to you? Many believe that March and November are the only times we form part of the electoral process. The uniform election on May 4th, and the run-off election on May 28th will allow YOU to cast your ballot that will determine who will represent you in various levels of government.

At the Houston Food Bank, your vote matters to us. To help make our vision of “a world that doesn’t need food banks” a reality, we must vote. By casting your vote, you do more than just express an opinion; you actively shape the kind of government that will stand with us in our mission. Voting is how we ensure our leaders reflect our values and priorities, and it’s how we initiate the changes needed to transform our community for the better. It’s important to recognize that voting isn’t just every four years; it’s an ongoing chance to have a say on what matters to you. We encourage you to actively participate in this process and be an integral part of shaping the future.
