Support with Paycheck Delays or SNAP Interruptions
If you or someone you know has been affected by federal furloughs or SNAP interruptions, please know that the Houston Food Bank is here to support you during this difficult time.
We understand how stressful this situation can be, and we’re doing everything we can to make sure no one goes without food. To reach as many families as possible, we’ve launched Emergency Response Neighborhood Super Sites across the community — dedicated locations where anyone impacted by the shutdown can receive food assistance.

No one should face this alone. We’re your neighbors, and we’re here to help you make it through — together.

HFB Volunteers: Valued, Vital, and Needed All Year Long!
Volunteers are the heartbeat of HFB.
Thank you for stepping up.
This month, thousands of you showed up when our community needed you most. Your support made it possible for us to respond quickly and compassionately to furloughed federal employees and SNAP recipients facing sudden interruptions to their food support.
You became a lifeline for families who suddenly found themselves unsure of where their next meal would come from.
Because of your dedication, families in crisis received not only essential food, but also hope and reassurance. Your time, energy, and kindness made a real difference.
Thank you for standing with us—and with our neighbors—when it mattered most.
From all of us at HFB, thank you for being the steady, caring hands that lift our neighbors up—this month, this season, and all year long. We are truly grateful for each and every one of you.
