Corporate Volunteers Receive National Honor

On أبريل 23rd, 2024, the Houston Food Bank honored its most outstanding corporate volunteers with the President’s Volunteer Service Award. A grand total of 122 corporations attended the three-day awards — The cumulative hours/meals donated for the corporations that attended the 2023 award ceremonies: 55,265 hours donated in 2023 (facilitating a total of 3,315,900 meals)
Awards were given in the following categories:
GOLD (500+ hours): 25 corporations with total of 33,410 hours donated (equivalent to 2,004,600 meals)
SILVER (250 – 499 hours): 34 corporations with a total of 11,591 hours donated (equivalent to 695,460 meals)
BRONZE (100 – 249 hours): 63 corporations with a total of 10,264 hours donated (equivalent to 615,840 meals)
Founded in 2003 by the President’s Council on Service and Civic Participation under the George W. Bush administration, the President’s Volunteer Service Award recognizes the important role of volunteers in America’s strength and national identity.
Award recipients received a certificate presented by HFB President and CEO Brian Greene, as well as a signed letter and pin from President Joe Biden.
