Hunger Game 2024 Winners

The Houston Food Bank’s Hunger Game is a competition in which groups of all sizes compete against each other to provide food for better lives within our community. Groups compete to raise the most meals by donating time, food, and funds. The Overall Award recognizes the group who generates the most meals. The Per Capita Award recognizes the group who generates the most meals per group member. Congratulations to this year’s winners!
Per Capita Award Winner: Team Lucas
“A few months ago, my classmates and I created a documentary video highlighting the Houston Food Bank. Our documentary was so successful that it won first place in the High School Documentary category and the Best Picture Award at the Fort Bend ISD Film Festival.
While making the documentary, I learned so much about Houston Food Bank’s wonderful operations and programs and how they impacted the Houston metropolitan area. Additionally, the volunteers and staff at the Houston Food Bank were so kind to me and were a huge help with my documentary; therefore, I decided to participate in the “Hunger Game” to support Houston Food Bank’s mission and encourage others to do the same. Thank you to all my donors and volunteers who have supported my campaign.”

And for the past two years, our Houston office has chosen to dedicate their efforts during our annual Nourishing our Neighbours campaign in September to HFB, in recognition of Hunger Action Month.
