Located at 535 Portwall, Houston Food Bank is a 308,000 square foot facility that consists of a warehouse, kitchen, conference center, and more.
An Award-Winning Facility
Houston Food Bank is one of the most exciting spaces in Houston. Our facility is bustling with volunteers processing food, while forklifts move through our 308,000 square foot warehouse. The Food Bank also distributes hot meals for kids prepared in our 10,000 square foot Keegan Kitchen.
A Food Bank That’s Green
得益于绿山能源公司（Green Mountain Energy）“太阳俱乐部”（Sun Club）、SolarSPARC项目以及NRG公司的慷慨捐赠，休斯顿食品银行的屋顶安装了440块太阳能电池板，使我们变得更加“绿色”。这些电池板将得克萨斯州的阳光转化为电能，不仅降低了我们的水电费，还每小时节省相当于三顿饭的费用。这组太阳能电池板阵列覆盖了食品银行屋顶5,300平方英尺的面积，每年可发电96,000千瓦时。
