DESCRIPTION:Food from the Bar is a month-long competition among Houston’s legal community where participants earn points by donating food\, fund and volunteer time to benefit the Houston Food Bank. \n      How It Works\nLegal organizations will be awarded points as follows: \n\n1 lb. of food = 1 point\n$1 = 3 points\n1 volunteer = 50 points\n\nFirm/Organization Bonus Points: \n\n100 bonus points for every volunteer attending Volunteer Bonus Days\n\n      Sign Up – Early Registration Now Open\n \nJoin us for the 11th Annual Food From the Bar campaign. DESCRIPTION:How many of you have sensitive papers\, mail\, or important documents at home or the office that you have been thinking of shredding but haven’t gotten around to doing it yet? \nWell\, I’d like to share with you that Comerica is hosting their annual Shred Day event Saturday\, April 18\, from 8AM to 3PM. Bring as many documents as you want\, and Comerica will shred and recycle them for free. \nWhile you’re there\, consider bringing non-perishable food or donating to support Houston Food Bank. Every dollar can provide 3 meals\, and your support can make a huge impact for our neighbors experiencing food insecurity. \n\nThe event is April 18\, from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Comerica Mangum Banking Center (2201 Mangum Rd.\, Houston\, TX 77092).\n\nWhile you’re there\, consider bringing non-perishable food or donating to support Houston Food Bank.\n\nEvery dollar can provide 3 meals\, and your support can make a huge impact for our neighbors experiencing food insecurity.\n\nLast year\, Shred Day collected 3\,800 pounds of food and raised over $16\,000 in donations.\n\nIt will be a win-win… you can clear out your paperwork\, protect your identity\, and you will also be providing food for better lives!

SUMMARY:Archway Gallery's Empty Bowls Invitational Exhibition and Sale
DESCRIPTION:WHEN: May 2-30\, 2026\nOpening Reception May 2\, 5-8 p.m. (Open to the public\, complimentary valet parking) \nWHERE: Archway Gallery\, 2305 Dunlavy (77006) \nArchway Gallery is once again honored to host a special exhibition to raise money for Empty Bowls Houston. More than 30 finely crafted\, one-of-a-kind bowls will be displayed along with work submitted by both 2D and 3D Archway Gallery artists\, in concert with the Gallery’s April featured artist exhibition (Silvia PintaSouza). The Empty Bowls artwork will be available through the month of May with proceeds benefiting the Houston Food Bank. There is a special opening reception on May 2 from 5 to 8 p.m. at Archway Gallery to meet the artists and view these unique works. The bowls may be purchased and taken home the same day!
