Empty Bowls Houston

Thanks, Houston, for an incredible 20th annual Empty Bowls Houston!

The 20th Annual Empty Bowls Houston kicked off Friday, May 15 with our Preview Party at Silver Street Studios at Sawyer Yards—a new venue for this year’s event.  Preview Party Chairs Anna Dean and Gin Braverman helped bring in more than 200 attendees and raise more than $18,000 in ticket and bowl sales.

The main event took place Saturday, May 16, 2026, and it was truly one to behold.  With over 1,500 bowls available for purchase, live demo artists, music, lunch from Salata, coffee from Katz Coffee and ice cream from Ben & Jerry’s, attendees turned out in droves!

The event was a massive success seeing over 700 attendees come from all over Houston and some from as far as San Antonio.  These passionate supporters of the impactful event helped raise more than $36,000 in bowl sales!

Over the past year, Empty Bowls Houston (remove the and campaign) has raised an amazing $102,976 through sponsorships, Preview Party ticket sales and bowl sales which will help provide nearly 309,000 meals!

Thank you to everyone who supported this year’s event including our 2026 sponsors: Silver Street Studios at Sawyer Yards, Joan Hohlt & Roger Wich Foundation, Patterson & Murphy Public Relations, The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center, Sysco Nourishing Neighbors, Thomas Perry & Carolyn Dahl, Third Coast Clay, Andre & Virginia Bally, Ceramic Store of Houston, Houston First, Archway Gallery, Salata, Ben & Jerry’s, Katz Coffee and Sofer Entertainment.

The Moment

Krista Gene and Joseph Crump are Houston-based singer-songwriters who recently teamed up to blend expressive vocals and guitar work. Their performances feature tight vocal harmonies and guitar solos, along with a mix of original songs drawn from rock, blues, country, R&B, and touches of jazz. Their live performances balance stripped-down acoustic songwriting with bluesy improvisation and dynamic arrangements.
