Be an Apple Corps Leader
The Apple Corps Team is a dedicated group of individuals who donate time regularly at the Houston Food Bank. This program is designed to expand upon existing skills or develop new leadership skills. With countless community and corporate volunteer groups each year, our Apple Corps volunteers are essential to the operation of the Food Bank by leading, training, and organizing these groups.

What roles are available?
Apple Corps members fulfill many different roles within the Houston Food Bank, and we are certain we can find a suitable role for everyone! Our areas in greatest need of Apple Corps volunteers are:
Interact with volunteers! The trekker team performs volunteer orientation and task training, answers questions during volunteer shifts, and manages the operation within volunteer areas. This provides a hands-on experience!
Receive volunteers when they arrive for a shift. This involves greeting volunteers as they enter the building, facilitating the sign in process, answering volunteer questions, and escorting volunteers to orientation areas.
Schedule fellow HFB volunteers. This team receives volunteer shift requests and works behind-the-scenes to keep HFB volunteerism running smoothly. This team is great for anyone who enjoys working on computers and providing logistical support.
