Senior Box Program

The Senior Box Program is funded through the Commodity Supplemental Food Program (CSFP), a federal program designed to improve the health and nutrition of income eligible seniors.  Seniors receive a box of food each month with a retail value of $50, which helps stretch their fixed incomes to keep food on the table.

Who is eligible?

  • Harris County Residents 60 and over
  • Seniors must be living on no more than 130% of the Federal Poverty Level 

How do I sign up?

  • You must sign up in person at a distribution site.  Get a list of sites and find out what information you will need to bring with you by calling the Houston Food Bank Helpline at 832-369-9390.
  • It is important to sign up as soon as possible. This program is presently at capacity; there is a waiting period after signing-on.
