It takes a village. Every award given to the Houston Food Bank is really an award shared by all of our friends who make us the largest source of food for 600 partners in charitable hunger relief.
The Food Bank is grateful for the recognition, but we're even more grateful that our collective efforts are highlighted. Here are just a few kudos.
We thank the Better Business Bureau for once again naming the Houston Food Bank as winner of the 2014 Pinnacle Award for service excellence. The award acknowledges the Food Bank's achievements and commitment to overall excellence and quality in the workplace.
Our beautiful facility at 535 Portwall received a design-based award from the prestigious Urban Land Institute Houston (ULI), which represents individuals from every segment of the real estate development community. The Houston Food Bank won the top prize in the not-for-profit category of its Development of Distinction Awards. Judging was conducted by a panel of ULI members from across the country.
HFB received one of the three top awards given annually statewide by the Texas Association of Partners in Education (TAPE). We were nominated by HISD in the category of Community Partnerships – Health for our dedicated service to students in HISD through the Backpack Buddy program.
